The song’s creation was inspired by the death of the actress Michelle Trachtenberg who passed away in February, 2025. “Dawn” was the name of the character she played in the tv series “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”.

When she passed I went down a Buffy rabbit hole. It was a show I enjoyed very much back in the day. Some of my fondest life memories is watching Buffy reruns everyday with my three nieces. The 4 of us were locked in the Buffy-verse. Everything was Buffy to us. We were our own Scooby Gang.

I put into song the emotions of those long forgotten feelings. How happy the Buffy series once made me. How awesome it was bonding with my nieces. How happy the show made all of us. It was a good time for tv and now it’s a good time for streaming. I am now re-watching the Buffy and Angel series on Hulu through my Disney+ app and I am very excited for the upcoming series reboot.
